Vatnsholt is a beautiful farmstead that has recently been completely renovated. The view from Vatnsholt is one of the most expansive in all of Iceland, with clear views of landmarks such as the islands of Vestmannaeyjar, Eyjafjallajökull volcano and the well-known mountains of Tindfjöll and Hekla. Vatnsholt is conveniently located 70 km from Reykjavik with easy access from the main highway (route 1).

The facilities include made-up beds in 25 rooms with private/en-suite and shared bathrooms, living room and kitchen facilities. Restaurant with emphasis on food direct from the farm. Larger groups will enjoy the use of the dining hall, kitchen and two bathrooms. Also on the premises are a sundeck, barbecue facilities, a hot tub and a playground area with high quality play equipment. Free wi-fi in the restaurant/reception, wi-fi access in the rooms is ISK 1,000 per day.  

Staying at Vatnsholt offers a host of family-friendly activites. In addition to making use of the playground, both children and adults are sure to enjoy the eclectic collection of farm animals, which includes dogs, horses, rabbits, chicken, sheep and cattle. Bikes are available for rent, and boat rental and fishing in the adjacent Villingaholtsvatn lake is yet another activity to enjoy. 

The northern lights are well visible from Vatnsholt where you can enjoy the lights with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate.
