The Aldrei fór ég suður music festival will take place 6-7 April 2012 in Ísafjörður, Westfjords and will be streamed live via the Inspired by Iceland website.

Aldrei fór ég suður (meaning "I never went south", a quip on the idea that all musicians flock to Reykjavik to find their fortune), is the brainchild of Icelandic musician Mugison and his father, both Ísafjörður natives. They were both keen to showcase Ísafjörður’s vibrant music scene, and wanted to have as much fun as possible while doing it.

This free music festival in Ísafjörður brings together live performances from local bands and some of the biggest names from the Icelandic music scene - in the beautiful surroundings of steep mountains and quaint, colourful town houses.

Artists scheduled to play this year include Sykur, Muck, Retro Stefson, Skálmöld, Mugison, Klysja, Dúkkulísur, Pollapönk, Guðrið Hansdóttir, Jón Jónsson and many more.
