Experience varied birdlife on a 3 or 5-night birdwatching tour in the picturesque scenery of North East Iceland. Visit some of Iceland's best birdwatching spots on foot, by boat and by bus, including Lake Mývatn, a paradise for bird watchers with its numerous duck species and home to Sigurgeir's Bird Museum. Tours also include visits to Eider and Puffin colonies and many beautiful destinations in North East Iceland with plenty of opportunites for nature exploring and birdwatching. On the tours participants get the chance to view species such as Barrow's Goldeneyes and Harlequin Ducks and scarcer species such as the Northern Shoveler, Common Pochard and Ring-necked Duck.

Birds in North East Iceland
 
Participants have a choice between a three-night package and two five-night packages. One of the five-night package includes the same activities as the three-night package but gives you additional free time to either spend in the birdhides or to explore the area‘s many attractions on your own terms, while the other one includes more sight-seeing tours. The three-night package includes half a day‘s use of the birdhides at Sigurgeir´s Bird Museum whereas both five-night packages include a full day‘s use of the birdhides. Please note that for the Flatey Island boat trip there is a minimum of six passengers. Should the Flatey Island tour be cancelled participants will be invited to join alternative Whale Watching (approx. 3 hours) and Puffins Exclusive (approx. 1 hour) tours. Bird watching in Iceland
