Vatnsholt is a beautiful farmstead that has recently been completely renovated. The view from Vatnsholt is one of the most expansive in all of Iceland, with clear view of landmarks such as the islands of Vestmannaeyjar, the Eyjafjallajökull volcano, and the well-known mountains of Tindfjöll and Hekla. Vatnsholt is conveniently located 70 km from Reykjavik with an easy access from the main highway.

   
The facilities include made-up beds, living room, kitchen and shared bathrooms. Larger groups will enjoy the use of the dining hall, kitchen and two bathrooms. Also on the premises are a sundeck, grill, a hot tub and a playground area with the highest quality play equipment.

  
Staying at Vatnsholt offers a host of family-friendly activites. In addition to making use of the playground, both children and adults are sure to enjoy our eclectic collection of farm animals, which includes dogs, horses, rabbits, chicken, sheep and cattle. Bikes are available for rent, and boat rental and fishing in the adjacent Villingaholtsvatn lake is yet another activity to enjoy.

How to find:                          By road no. 309
From Reykjavík: Drive through Selfoss on highway 1 for about 7-8 km. Turn right when you see a sign to Villingaholt.  Drive on way Villingaholtsvegur nr. 305 about 7 km until you see a sign for Kolsholt road nr. 309 on your right. As you turn right onto this road you will see our farm. Drive 700 m and turn left until you see a sign for RECEPTION.  Welcome to our farm ?

From Hvolsvöllur: Drive through Hella, following the signs as if you were going to Selfoss. [Breyta síðan eins og fyrir ofan.]  About 7-8 km before you are in Selfoss you see a sign on your LEFT: Villingaholt, you turn left there. You drive on way Villingaholtsvegur nr. 305 about 7 km and then you see a sign on your right : Kolsholt road nr. 309. You turn again to the right (now you can see our farm)  You drive 700 m and turn left until you see a sign RESEPTION.
