Hellishólar is located in Fljótshlíð, the setting of Njáls Saga. Good location for daytrips to Þórsmörk, Westmann Islands, Landmannalaugar, Emstrur, Fjallabaksleið. Trout and salmon permits can be arranged. River rafting offered nearby.

Golf: Hellishólar offers a 18 hole golf course with the rivers Þverá and Grjótá running through it. The course is par 72 and 5012 m long. Surrounded by breathtaking nature, the golf course is both demanding and fun.

From Hvolsvöllur: Leave Hvolsvöllur in direction Fljótshlíð area on road no. 216.  After about 10 km on road no 216 (along the Fljótshlíð hills) you find Hellishólar cottages on your right.
