Halldór and Lilián, the hosts at Fljótstunga offer cottages  (1 for 2 pers. in cat. A and 1 for 4 pers. in cat. C), 2 double rooms at the main house, sleeping bag accommodation in unit cottages, camping and a gathering space for all our guests to dine and relax.  

In the land of Fljótstunga is Víðgelmir, one of the largest lava caves in the world and the largest cave in Iceland. It is a preserved cave and we offer guided tours.  At Fljótstunga there are fishing rivers, waterfalls, lava fields, horses, and many beautiful hiking paths. It is deep in the valley and very close to the 2nd largest glacier of the country. Surrounded by spectacular glaciers and mountains it is a perfect place to see the northern lights.

Fljótstunga farm dates back to the year 1011 in the old Grettir saga. The land has run through one family since 1879 and is one of the five original tourist farms in Iceland.
