Kiðagil guesthouse is situated in Bárðardalur Valley on the western side of Skjálfandafljót River. Kiðagil offers 12 rooms for 1-4 people with hand basin. Shared facilities. Made-up beds (breakfast included) ands sleeping bag accommodation. 

Small living room with TV and computer access. The restaurant and bar are open from 11am -10pm.   Sauna (book at least 30 min in advance).

Many interesting places are close by, such as Goðafoss and Aldeyjarfoss waterfalls and Sexhólagil Gorge. Our staff can provide you with information about the area and activities such as walking, hiking and fishing. 

The hosts speak English.
 
Open: All summer  from 15th June to 30th of August.  Booking has to be made in advance before/after the main operation period.

How to find?
Kiðagil is by road nr 842. 

From Akureyri: ( 70 km) Leave Akureyri heading to Mývatn on road no. 1. Turn right  into road no. 842  before reaching Goðafoss waterfall.  Drive for approximately  17 km   and you will see white house with green roof.  Welkome to Kiðagil! Or (73 km) Leave Akureyri heading to Mývatn on road no. 1. Turn right at Fossholl (Godafoss)  into road no. 844.  Drive for 19 km and cross the river at bridge  and  turn right and drive 1 km to Kidagil. 

From Mývatn (Reykjahlíð): Around 70  km, heading to Akureyri on road no. 1. Drive pass Fossholl and Godafoss.  Then turn  left into road no. 842  to Kidagil. Or (70 km) Heading to Akureyri on road no. 1. Turn left at  Fossholl  (Godafoss)   into road no. 844.  Drive for 19 km and cross the river at bridge  and turn right and drive 1 km to Kidagil. Or (50 km) Heading to Akureyri on road no. 1. Turn left at road to farm Stöng. Close to Farm Stöng turn left and drive heathroad pass farm Engidalur and turn right at the next intersection and drive road 843 to the brigde turn left and cross the river and turn right and drive 1 km to Kidagil.

From Húsavík: (70 km) Leave Húsavík heading to Akureyri on road no. 85. Stay on for around 18 km. Head straight forward into road no. 845,  stay on for 17 km. Head straight forward into road no. 1. Stay on for around 3 km when you arrive in small village Laugar, turn there left into road no. 846 as you arrive in small village Laugar (you find the farm Stóru-Laugar on your left, after passing Laugar college).
