Lauftún is by road no. 1
 
From Varmahlíð: Leave Varmahlíð heading to Akureyri on road no. 1.  After only about 500 meters you find Lauftún on your left.
 
From Akureyri: Leave Akureyri on road no. 1, heading for Varmahlíð.  After about 83 km (only 500 meters before arriving in Varmahlíð) you find Lauftún on your right.
