How to find? By road no. 724
From Borgarnes: as you leave village Borgarnes, direction Akureyri on road no. 1 then you come to a traffic circle. Take the exit into road no 1 in direction of Akureyri. You need to drive for about 155 km on road no. 1 (passing the heath Holtavörðuheiði) before turning right into road no. 724. Stay on road no. 724 for about 6 km and you come to Húnavellir.
From Akureyri: You leave Akureyri on road no. 1, direction Reykjavík. Stay on road no 1 for about 160 km (passing through the villages Varmhlíð and Blönduós) before turning left into road no. 724. Stay on road no. 724 for about 6 km and you come to Húnavellir.
