How to find?
Beitistaðir is by road no. 1
From Reykjavík: Leave Reykjavík heading towards Akureyri on main ring road no. 1. About 15 km after you leave Reykjavík you come to the village of Mosfellsbær and when you have passed it you need to continue some 20 km before you come to the Hvalfjörður tunnel (road toll ISK 1000,-). After passing through the tunnel you have to turn right on the roundabout and continue for about 20 km on road no.1, then you will see Beitistaðir on your right hand side.
From Borgarnes: Leaving Borgarnes heading towards Reykjavík on main ring road no. 1. As you leave Borgarnes you continue about 20 km on road no. 1, then you will see Beitistaðir on your left hand side.
