A cottage located in a hill overlooking the fjord Hvalfjjörður, 55 km from Reykjavík. The cottage has 1 bedroom with double bed and 2 beds in the living room. Also a small cabin (10 m2). Made up beds and sleeping bag accommodation. Hot pot and TV. Rented on daily and weekly basis.  

Various fishing possibilities and boat hire.

 

Hlíð is by road 502 (1 km off road 1, 55 km from Reykjavík).

Open: All year. Minimum stay 2 nights during summer.

 

Farm animals: Horses, sheep.

Swimming pool: Hlaðir 7 km.

Golf: Þórisstaðir 14 km.

Shopping: Borgarnes 26 km/Akranes 19 km.

How to find?              
Hlíð at Hvalfjarðarströnd is by road no. 47

From Reykjavík: - two choices:
A) via the tunnel of Hvalfjörður (road toll ISK 1000,-). 
Leave Reykjavík heading towards Akureyri on main ring road no. 1.  About 15 km after you leave Reykjavík you come to the village of Mosfellsbær and when you have passed it you need to continue some 20 km before you come to the Hvalfjörður tunnel and after you have passed the tunnel you need to continue about 12 km before turning right into Hvalfjarðarvegur (road no. 47).  You continue on this road for about 3 km before you turn left and continue for 1 km to reach Hlíð on your right.

B) via the Hvalfjörður fjord.
Leave Reykjavík heading towards Akureyri on main ring road no. 1.  About 15 km after you leave Reykjavík you come to the village of Mosfellsbær and when you have passed it then you need to continue about 20 km on road no. 1 before turning right into Hvalfjarðarvegur (road no. 47).  You continue on this road along the fjord and after some 58 km you need to turn right and continue for 1 km to reach Hlíð on your right.

From Borgarnes: Leaving Borgarnes heading towards Reykjavík on main ring road no. 1.  As you leave Borgarnes you continue about 20 km on road no. 1 before turning left into Hvalfjarðarvegur (road no. 47). You continue on this road for about 3 km before you turn left and continue for 1 km to reach Hlíð on your right.
