At Bjarteyjarsandur sheep farming and tourism are combined to form a unique experience for the visitor. The hosts offer their guests a homely atmosphere and take great care in conserving the environment.

Hvalfjörður fjord has alot to offer those who enjoy the outdoors, e.g. shore excursions, guided walking tours, bicycling and sea swimming. Guests can also take part in regular farm activities such as the sheep round-up, sheep shearing and mussel-picking.

The farm has many animals on display and there is a playground for children.

Bjarteyjarsandur offers good facilities for groups. They are often received in the Barn, where a simple menu is on offer featuring many locally produced foods such as organic lamb, homemade paté, dandelion honey, jams and chutneys. In group visits, guests are also often shown around the farm and can take part in seasonal farm activities such as the lambing season and hay-gathering.

Art gallery 'Gallery Alfholl' is open all year round, arts and crafts and local food products for sale. Christmas market in December.
