Hiking and fishing possibilities. 1 km from Hjalli is Kaffi Kjós, were guests can enjoy refreshments or meals (with a nice view over lake Meðalfellsvatn).
 
Open: Cottage is open all year, Kaffi Kjós is open in summer.

How to find?              

Hjalli in Kjós is by road no. 461

From Reykjavík: leave Reykjavík heading towards Akureyri on main ring road no. 1.  About 15 km after you leave Reykjavík you come to the village of Mosfellsbær and when you have passed it then you need to continue about 20 km on road no. 1 before turning right into Hvalfjarðarvegur (road no. 47).  After about 12 km you need to turn right again into Meðalfellsvegur (road no. 461) where you continue about 10 km before you see Hjalli on your right.

From Borgarnes: Leaving Borgarnes heading towards Reykjavík on main ring road no. 1.  As you leave Borgarnes you continue about 20 km on road no. 1 before turning left into Hvalfjarðarvegur (road no. 47). You continue on this road along the fjord and after some 50 km you need to turn left into Meðalfellsvegur (road no. 461) where you continue about 10 km before you see Hjalli on your right.
