Accommodation in an old farmhouse. 2 double rooms and a triple room, all with hand basin. Extra beds for children available. Cooking facilities, sitting room with TV, books and games. Terrace with table and chairs and a barbeque in front of the house. Homemade jam, bread and handknitted products for sale at the farm.
Guests are welcome to watch the farmer at work. Guided tour around the farm with a look inside the barns and machines used at the farm. Watching horses, mares with foals in spring with the host. Special events are lambing season in May and sheep gathering first two weeks in September and horse gathering in the last week end in September and the first weekend in October.
Good hiking possibilities from the farm and in the peninsula, f. ex. a marked walking path of 11 km from the farm Grund in Vesturhóp over the mountains to the village of Hvammstangi. Also guided trips (daytrips) from the farm up to the mountains or down to the lake on request (min. 3 people). Canes for Nordic walking and hiking map can be borrowed at the farm.
Troutfishing in lakes and rivers nearby. Guests can fish trout in a smaller stream belonging to the farm (licence bought at the farm). Horse rental 4 km.
Swimming pool (also hot pots and sauna), shopping, bank, seal centre and other service in the village Hvammstangi within 10 min. drive by car.

How to find?
Neðra-vatnshorn is by road no. 1
From Borgarnes: as you leave village Borgarnes, direction Akureyri on road no. 1 then you come to a traffic circle. Take the exit into road no 1 in direction of Akureyri. You need to drive for about 120 km on road no. 1 (passing the heath Holtavörðuheiði) before you come to farm Neðra-Vatnshorn (on your left).
From Akureyri: you leave Akureyri on road no. 1, direction Reykjavík. Stay on road no 1 for about 190 km (passing through the villages Varmhlíð and Blönduós) before you come to farm Neðra-Vatnshorn (on your right).
